Arise Music Festival 2017 Review

Arise Music Festival 2017 Review
Once again festival goers arrived in masses to take on Arise festival 2017. Celebrating their
fifth year up and running the turnout was beautiful to say the least. Crowds full of smiling faces
sprinkled the grounds. Seems like being surrounded by beautiful mountain views and lovely
tunes will do that to a person. Personally, I thought what truly made the festival magnificent
were the interactive workshops, classes, discussions, village areas and art.

Sonic Bloom 2017 Review

Sonic Bloom 2017 Review

In life as we grow older it becomes harder and harder for us to find magic in the world around us. There aren’t many places we can go where we can say we feel something monumentally positive. These are the kind of places we can find our truest selves in. Places often full of love, music, community and nature. Places like Sonic Bloom.

Take Note Colorado: Music for Education (Review)

Take Note Colorado: Music for Education (Review)

The Take Note Colorado concert was Governor Hickenlooper’s kick off for his music initiative to improve and increase children’s access to musical education.  “Twenty years from now, people are going to say, ‘Were you at that first Take Note concert?’ And you’ll say, ‘Yeah! I was there,’ ” Hickenlooper said to the crowd.  With high hopes, the 1STBANK Center was about two thirds full, packed with people who came together for education and to see some of their favorite artists perform some of their greatest hits.

Higher Society New Years Eve Feat. Stooki Sound and Alex and Allison Grey

Higher Society New Years Eve Feat. Stooki Sound and Alex and Allison Grey

With so many options available on New Year’s Eve, when choosing your activity you have so many things to consider.  Company, venue (if you’re the extroverted type), music, etc.  And especially in a place like Denver, where the options on said holiday are virtually limitless, it’s paramount that you choose wisely.

Decadence was clearly the main show in town.  That’s no secret, and hasn’t been for quite some time.  But for those interested in taking in a show within a bit more intimate of a venue, the homies over at SOCO Nightlife District and Souls in Action Entertainment set up something which turned out to be quite the treat.  With an eclectic lineup featuring a bevy of different visual and musical artists, the New Year’s Eve party they hosted at City Hall stood in stark contrast to the rest of the parties taking place that night.  Amongst the variety of influences present in the lineup however, two luminaries stand out above the others: I’m talking of course about artist Alex Grey and London’s own Stooki Sound.

Safe In Sound 2016 Review

Safe In Sound 2016 Review

Less than one week after Hallowfreakinween, crowds of teens and twenty-somethings made their way to the First Bank Center to attend Colorado’s 3rd annual Safe In Sound Music Festival. With twenty-five destinations and an assortment of eighteen artists, this year’s Safe In Sound line up was more than grand. Not only did Borgore, Zomboy, LAXX, and Just A Gent make a Coloradical appearance, but Denver’s own Decadon and PAWS made their way to the Broomfield line-up, making this show an event that this bass capital’s residents didn’t want to miss.

UK Trio Gentlemen’s Club Returns to Denver for a Smashing Bass-Filled Performance

Rising up from the ashes in a sea full of overplayed monotonous electronic music comes one of the most legendary trios in riddim history: Gentlemen’s Club. Comprised of artists Soloman, Coffi, and 50Carrot, the United Kingdom-based group made their return to Denver this past Halloweekend. Often times we find ourselves clouded in an industry of aspiring emerging artists, but on October 29th, City Hall in Denver opened up to reveal an incredible night full of face-melting bass and riddim.

Rowdytown 5: Big Gigantic and Friends

Rowdytown five was one for the books! I got the grand opportunity of being a Lil’G which is a group of people that work with Big Gigantic on the days of the show to help assure them that their crowd is being taken care of. All night we handed out waters, t-shirts, water bottles, hats, candy, and more to people. The smile’s I got back were priceless.

Event Review: Bear Grillz at the Fox Theatre

Event Review: Bear Grillz at the Fox Theatre
Is there anything out there more satisfying than listening to beautiful music? Depends, but maybe having the person who’s creating that music show how passionate they are about their tracks is a close tie. With so many people out there right now trying to make it in the music industry to get rich quick it's gratifying to see artists who are genuinely performing for their love of music and their fans. Despite the midweek Wednesday show, whoever was fortunate enough to attend Bear Grillz at the Fox last week got just that. He brought that signature dirty dubstep, collabs, and mixes littered with huge bass drops and upbeat vibes.
